One day I asked my dad if he could
Build me a plane
He said he would and so he did
And out of wood it came

Painted white with coloured stripes
And two mecano wheels
Propellor carved and painted black
It took a week to build

The years passed by
And all I did was
Fly my aeroplane

When I was nine years old
Flying down the garden path

Other toys would come and go
But they all seem the same
Nothing could replace

It looked a little shabby
But the colour was the same
I bought it for a fiver

And now it's fixed and painted
We can make it fly again
