Song title: "American Hero"
Cd title: "American Hero"
written by Andreas Cetinski
(verse)
I sit and pray, for the young man
sent off to die in a foreign land
just another name, just another number
never forget always remember
Not a celebrity, not a movie star
he'll put his life on the line for yours,
walks the jungles, walks the desert sand
so we are safe in our homeland
Bullets flying overhead with anybody's name
his best buddy just took one to his brain
you won't even know his name, the unknown soldier,
what a shame, he will never be the same
(Chorus)
American Hero, American Hero
Dog tags and Body Bags
Visions of his buddies dying in his hands
Scars that you can't see, wounds that never heal,
Lost his innocence, never be the same
American Hero, American Hero
You're walking around in your little world
politician playing god with your child's life
safe and sound without a clue
while others lay their life down for you
Camouflage, sabotage, road side bombs
all in the name of their God
this man put his life on the line for you
willing to make the ultimate sacrifice
(Chorus)
American Hero, American Hero
Dog tags and Body Bags
Visions of his buddies dying in his hands
Scars that you can't see, wounds that never heal,
Lost his innocence, never be the same
American Hero, American Hero
(Bridge)
The Red, for the blood that was shed
the White, gotta stand up for what's right
the Blue, did what they had to do
21 Gun Salute, 21 Gun Salute, 21 Gun Salute....for...
for an American Hero, American Hero
when u see this unknown soldier walking down the street, take a little time, say a lil prayer, for the burdens he had to bear, say little thank you for all you've done,
You're an American Hero, American Hero, American Hero, American Hero
The End ;-) luv ya A ;-)
