Story Behind The Song
I am from a small town in Ohio called Yellow Springs. I wrote it as I was living in NYC longing for some of the beautiful places i grew up with, like the covered bridge in the woods with thousands of fireflies. I was also falling in love as I was writing the song, and it was written easily--with an innocence that is not sentimental. This is always a real crowd pleaser.
Song Description

Won't you be my buddy for a while
Hold my hand you can make me smile
You know you can really make me laugh
There is a secret path
Down by the river that's where it's at, and no
I don't have a map
Chorus:
Run Run Run with me
Down by the meadow that's where I'll be, you can follow me if you like
Run till we're out of breath
Fall down laughing saying
Yes, I really like you
There's a covered bridge down the lane
It's a total fireflies' domain
You know, you look nice in that light
So come and sit down with me
Let's count the things we cannot see
You can even close your eyes, I know you when you close your eyes
Chorus
We can build a fort for two
Noone can find us, but if they do
We'll make them tea and cake
We can dance from room to room
Dancing and singing to the tune
That only we create
Chorus
