Story Behind The Song
Written in a few hours in my vintage airstream trailer in the California desert. I just woke up and said "I've got to write a song today", so I started practicing my guitar and found a riff and away we went!
Song Description

On a virtual journey, she travels back to her childhood in Chicago, noticing how was free there in her youthful innocence. Lyrics
My Hopes, my dreams, my everlasting love
Are all caught up in this scene that is not well thought of
by ones who have said it's all in my head
So I gotta go to San Francisco
Like route 66 for 66 hours
Watch my back I'm on the wrong track
Now I'm winding my way back to Chicago to Chicago
remember childhood there when I'm not to scared to try to be free
My mind, my heart acting like I already know
The sun it shines so
I gotta go to San Francisco
Any way to go to San Francisco
Well I see salvation there and I'm not too shy to try to be free
I sense censors coming but no, we're all gonna do it anyway
My wife to be - that's not to say
That she's not already feeling quite that way
Somebody said, get back to your bed
You gotta work, work, get it right, keep going all night
Driving up the left coast
Is it right here, in San Francisco
Somebody find her my favorite iron is in the fire
I'm out stranded my beautiful flame is dying by the hour
