Story Behind The Song
High & Dry was born out of first playing with a bass line that has an eastern feel to it. Later I added that march like beat, which is where I got the idea for the lyric 'I was like a soldier with you on my side'.
Song Description
The singer is expressing her disappointment about the end of a relationship, in which it appears her lover left her in a bad way. She talks of how strong they once were.
