Lyrics

Once a little man
Couldn?t keep up with
His big fast machine and stumbling
He slipped and fell.

Tangled in the mess
He cried out for help
But the machine had too much work to do.

Conscious of his fate
Our dear friend tried to
Break free from the hold of the machine
To no avail.

Too great was the force
Of the grinding steel
That rendered individuals obsolete.

All the lookers-on
Hardly moved an inch
Sparing little effort to assist
The dying man.

Barely glancing up
From their piece of wood
They just ignored the poor man?s wretched screams.

Reveling in its hold
The machine pressed on
Every second conscious of its power
To terrify.

It had no concern
For the human life
That it so happily ground into dust.

Memories of past
Friends and family
Flashed before the eyes of the poor man
About to die.

Fervently they burned
Then went out for good,
And our dear friend gave up his soul to God.
