Locally Famous
Written by Scott Wilcox © August 14, 2009

Locally Famous, widely Unknown

It's ok cause I don't mind being needed close to home
Locally Famous, widely askew
It's okay cause I don't mind staying right here close to you

I walked in to Wal-mart, a guy takes my hand (he says)
That song you played last night made my wife get up and dance
See, she wasn't feeling well, lost her will to fight
But after that song you played she said everything'll be alright

Chorus

I went to the VA, to visit my grandpa
I met a man who lost his legs in the Persian Gulf War
I sang him a little song called Amazing Grace
you would have thought I was Willie Nelson by the smile on his face.

(But I'm) Locally Famous, widely unknown
It's ok, cause I don't mind being needed close to home
Locally Famous, widely askew
It's okay cause I don't mind staying right here close to you

Bridge
When I was a young boy, I dreamt to be a star

But now I know, to change the world, you don't have to go that far

Chorus

This song had a nice feel and had a lot of energy. I liked the guitar sound you used. I thought the rhythm section was quite good. The high hat really complimented the guitar rhythm nicely. The bass work was good as well--can't leave that out, being a bassist myself. The song was well arranged. I thought the transitions between sections worked quite well.

This song hit a big note with me. WE DO WHAT WE DO BECAUSE WE CAN'T IMAGINE DOING ANYTHIONG ELSE. If its in ya, its in ya. I loved the feel of this. Nice instrumentation and production.

I like the hook. Lyric is interesting.

That's what I call downhome easy listening.

like allot of the lyrics. good title/hook line.
