Lyrics
The Shadows that Dance Around You 2000 Phillip & Kathryn Powell
She sees the warrior in the garden
He is a shaman by design
He is leaning on an Angel
Hearing bells that never chime
And he is bending to a sadness
Of his longing to be whole
He weeps into his empty hands
And his grief invades his soul
Chorus
If you try to own the magic
If you try to keep the wind
The shadows that dance around you
Will claim you in the end
He sees the woman by the river
She is gathering her dreams
A victim of fallen love
Her heart ripped and the seams
She reaches for the morning sun
She is a lotus in the dew
Her veil falls and a gaze recalls
A love that once was true
Chorus
If you try to own the magic
If you try to keep the wind
The shadows that dance around you
(You know they will) claim you in the end
Break:
I see the warrior in the garden
His woman is by his side
And two souls cling together
They are searching for the light
And they wont try to own the magic
And they wont try to keep the wind
They know Angels dance around them
And their love will never end.
Chorus
If you try to own the magic
If you try to keep the wind
The shadows that dance around you
They will claim you in the end
