Vitamin J

Story Behind The Song

Of course, Vitamin J is the Jill supplement. I got the idea for this song when one of my friends was bemoaning an event in his life and I said "I'm coming over - you need some Vitamin J." The name stuck and the song came soon after. I kept the musical score and re-wrote the lyrics to use it as the title song of the "Devil May Care" musical co-written with my brother, Scott. His son, Wyatt, who was an avid actor, never accepted the "Vitamin J" version and would immediately turn to another song if that version ever came on.

Lyrics

Vitamin J

V1: You say that you don't know what's happening to you
You don't understand why you're feeling so blue
'Cause you've got what you need but you still want more
Don't look any further - I've got the cure

Chorus: Vitamin J - Vitamin J
Get yours today
Vitamin J - Vitamin J
Vitamin J

V2: I've watched and I've listened - I've heard and I've seen
I know where you are and I know where you've been
I've been here beside you every step of the way
With your daily dosage of Vitamin J

Chorus

V3: You may not discover relief right away
It could take a lifetime - it could take a day
But don't you give up and please don't despair
When others forsake you, J will be there
