Story Behind The Song
The chorus of this song revealed itself to me in the spring of 2012. While it was baking, my family suffered a tragedy when one of my nephews was killed in an auto accident. Afterward, at his home, flowers began to arrive. One assortment was contained in a vase with the inscription "Precious Child." I gasped, realizing that this was a sign to complete my precious child song. I know it is hard for my family to hear, yet comforting at the same time. When writing, I thought of all of our children and what they mean to us. My brother, Scott, included the song in our musical "Wedded Bliss," in a scene where the mother and father of the bride reassure her that, no matter what happens, she is their precious child.
