Let me start by saying that I was in the mood for some funk rock, because I was just listening to a old school greasy New Orleans funk rock band called The Meters and some Dave Matthews Band as well while driving home from band rehearsal tonight. So Instead of doing my usual random search for a song review I did a custom one and selected funk rock as the genre. And your song come in through my speakers.. I can't say without a doubt that this song falls into the funk rock category. It may hint to it at times but not definitively. I think this track identifies more personally as a psychedelic progressive rock song. Lot's of influences coming from the classic progressive rock world. All the instruments were executed nicely. Cool guitar riffs and tones as well as some juicy old school synth tones as well. But the bass guitar stole the show in my opinion, and the tone was spot on for it. Good job!! The artist found some nice and creative ways to effortlessly blend together some very notey and progressive not so easy to get away with parts. ( and I mean that with all the respect in the world) Hats off to the writer for writing and performing a complex song that kept me interested enough to listen to it 4 times in a row
Really great sound here. Nice intro, and the repeated riff that begins at the 40 second mark is dynamite. Great guitar work and all instrumentation fits really well. Kind of sounds like Hendrix meets Edgar Winter. Really cool piece.
