Story Behind The Song
I was in the army (conscripted) doing military service when I wrote this song. It still amazes me how different the negative sounds of war are to the energy and positiveness of the lyrics and mood of the song. It stresses non-comformity to the man-made expectations of the rat race.
Song Description
This is a challenge to "shake off those shoes" , rise up and take life on, not conforming to any cliches. The seeking and discovering that feeling of freedom and space to do just what you want to do, by moving your cheese, whenever.

Lyrics
MY KIND OF LIFE
Words & Music © 1986 Graham Noel Abrahams
1. Too many people
Get caught in the same dull routines
They wake in the morning
Put on their boots and their ties and things
Too many people, movin? together
Nobody has time
To be anymore
2. So I took off my shoes
And collected the things that I wanted
Put my guitar in the back of my car
Down the highway we went
?Course I took my baby with me
To love and to hold and to share my soul
CHORUS: This is, my kind of life
Don?t need to look any further, oh-ho-ho
My kind of life
Is right here what I?m singing about
Mmm, right here what I?m talking about
3. Drivin? along, with the wind in your hair
Blowin? away your cares
Radio?s on, playin? those songs
From days gone by
Rhythm of the music is taking you high
Telling you to stand up and be who you are
4. So you shake off your shoes
And collect all those things that you want to
Back them all in the back of your car
Down the highway you go
?Course you take your baby with you
To love and to hold and to share your soul
CHORUS:
