WinterWonderLand

Story Behind The Song

New Years day 2001 my family was at our beach house. I got up early to go on the beach to watch the sunrise. It was cold but the sunrise was so beautuful I had to stop and sit on the dunes to take it all in. As soon as I got back to the cottage I sat down and wrote this song.

© 2001 Eddie Brown -Winter Wonderland - 01-01-01
1) It?s cold out on the ocean, the seasons have passed by
2) A northern gale is sneakin? in, salty froth blown by the wind
3) If I were to lose my mind, find myself in another time

1) The tourists have all gone away, as I watch another sunrise
2) Sea oats slapping out a tune, the changing landscape of the dunes
3) On an island far from here, I don?t want you to shed a tear

1) Walk down by the water, where sand meets the tide
2) We walk along hand in hand, our fading footprints in the sand
3) It?s exactly where I want to be, my soul has finally been set free

1) A storm cloud silhouettes, the orange red eastern skies
2) Work and worry drift away, winter wonderland is where I?ll stay
3) Just let my life drift away, winter wonderland is where I?ll stay

Chorus:
It?s winter on the grand strand, no bathin? beauties on the sand
No flyin? banners in the sky, or surfers floating in the tide.
It?s winter here at the coast, it?s the time of year I love the most
Nobody here to bother me, There is no place I?d rather be.
Winter Wonderland by the sea.
