Train Ride Debate

I was staring out the window
Riding the night train
When a man turned and asked me
Was I born again?
Said "Get your house in order
Before the tolling of the bell,
'Cause judgement day is coming soo
and you could go to hell"

Another man than spoke up
And said "I disagree"
Then informed me of his doctorate
In philosophy.
Calmly he assured us
That God was dead
And everything is relative
So get it through your head

Next a politician
Then a businessman
A critic from a magazine
Each put his two cents in
A scientist then argued
Geological time
A psychologist assured us
"It's all a state of mind"

Everyone kept talking
As the train went through the night
Other people jumped on in
Everyone was right
I looked at the night sky,
The stars looked back at me
Just where was this train going?
I really couldn't see.
