Story Behind The Song
It was approaching our 10th anniversary - I thought I'd better write a song as a present!!! This very rough demo is the result but we plan to make a proper recording in the next few weeks.
Song Description
Two people, who have been in love for a long time, are growing together as the years go by, rather than stagnating. There is still tenderness, excitement and joy in the relationship. They share a passion and sense of incompleteness whenever they are apart.

Lyrics
Year On Year
© Heather Sheldrick 2011
Sometimes I don't know
Where you end and I begin
But year on year we're growing together
Can't seem to function
When you're not around
Sometimes you talk in riddles
Sometimes I sing in rhymes
Year on year we're growing together
And it's funny how I'm lost
When you're not around
When the sky shuts down
Black gales whip the sycamore tree
Rain hits the window at 90 degrees
And I'm cold, so cold I'm shivering
When the sky shuts down
I move closer to your skin
And you take me in
And I'm warm, so warm I'm shivering
Sometimes I don't know
Where you end and I begin
But year on year we're growing together
Can't seem to function
When you're not around
When the sky shuts down
Black gales whip the sycamore tree
Rain hits the window at 90 degrees
And I'm cold, so cold I'm shivering
When the sky shuts down
I move closer to your skin
And you take me in
And I'm warm, so warm I'm shivering
Year on year
