Story Behind The Song
LOL! Although I used my literary license just a bit, the song says it all pretty honestly. I have a neighbor you'd think I'd be friends with - we're both holistically minded, children about the same ages, but... well, the song says it! I just needed to write it, and think there might be another mom or two out there that could use the same chuckle.
Song Description
This is a Gretchen Wilson kinda song, though perhaps a bit traditional sounding. Other than that I'll let it speak for itself.

Lyrics
VERSE It?s Sunday and I know you go,
your children primly dressed.
Your husband, he stays home ?
likes sleepin? in I guess.
My kids are on two acres
runnin' in the dirt.
My mate's with me, with garden seeds...
I look and see you smirk...
CHORUS Every time I see you
I feel you judging me.
Now, I have learned how not to care,
to let your kind just be
'cause I don't want your sort of life,
I'm happy here with mine.
Got God right here, he's everywhere
but in your judging eyes.
VERSE I used to ask you over
but you never came,
then you have all these parties...
you don't call, it's all the same
'til my youngest drops his diaper
and runs, gone like a shot.
He grins, he's happy in the wind -
today belongs to God.
(I heard from you then...)
CHORUS Every time I see you
I feel you judging me.
Now, I have learned how not to care,
to let your kind just be
'cause I don't want your sort of life,
I'm happy here with mine.
Got God right here, he's everywhere
but in your judging eyes.
BRIDGE When I see God in wind or seeds
or in my children's eyes, just please
point your eyes away from me
'cause judgings what I never need.
I know we're all God's children,
think we'd be friends in time,
but then you tell your children
that they can't play with mine...
(Oh, you did it that time...)
CHORUS Every time I see you
I feel you judging me.
Now, I have learned how not to care,
to let your kind just be
'cause I don't want your sort of life,
I'm happy here with mine.
Got God right here, he's everywhere
but in your judging eyes.
Got God right here, he's everywhere
but in your judging eyes.
TAG "Judge not lest ye be judged,"
Christ said that long ago.
Jesus, you know that I try...
not to have these judging eyes.
But that lady makes me crazy...
