Story Behind The Song
Wrote this song for Lex who used to play Billy Holidays "God bless the child" for me all the time even though he was sick of it.
I utilized musical quotes from songs his band did...like "Leave your hat on", and Bonnie Rait's "Love me like a man", which is a song I used to sit in with them on. The 2 chords this song is based on, are the 2 chords Lex showed me from God Bless the Child. I as well belt the flat 5th, which Lex encouraged me to do. It's a tribute to him and his music

Lyrics
Now baby's got..blue eyes..and a blues style
When baby strokes his strings he drives the little girls wild
Ain't no jivin' baby...Cuz baby's paid his dues
There's nothing next to baby...when he do the things he do
Like when he rocks me in his Rhythm and Blues
Now he's got a ..top hat..you know I...like that
Baby's blues are minor and his fifths are flat
So come on over baby...say what have you got to loose
Let me christen you with fire
And I'll do the things I do and you can
Rock me in your rhytm and blues
Instrumental Break
Now he's got a...Jazz smile.you know he's a ...blues child
When baby strokes my strings he drives this little girl wild
Roll me over baby...I'm caught up in your ruse
You can tease me with your backbeat..and I'll do the things I do,
And you can Rock me in your rhythm and Blues
Now baby's got...Blue Eyes
