The Soggy Basement Boys, first place winners in the 2009 Ridgefield Music and Arts Center's Battle of the Ages, have their roots in classic bluegrass, but beyond that the band defies categorization due to the eclectic backgrounds of its five members.

The band's repertoire includes bluegrass standards, folk rock and their own arrangements of both well-known and re-discovered classics -- from Cole Porter and Beatles to Neil Young and Happy & Artie Traum -- to name a few. Also, the band incorporates original works by song-writing members.

The Soggy Basement Boys play their instruments with high-energy, blending their own arrangements and vocal harmonies into a captivating performance. With Chris Anderson and Laird Calia on guitar, Will Demers on guitar and mandolin, Mike Crescenzo on bass and Gerry O'Hara on banjo and guitar, the Soggy Basement Boys are happiest when their audience is keeping the beat with their feet and having as much fun as the band.
