See Spot Run is an acoustic folk-rock band that performs and records authentic, roots-based music with folk, rock, and world influences. The band members are:
Steve Potts: guitars, mandolin
Barb Potts: lead vocals
Robert Fernandez: bass guitar
Haven Harris: djembe
Joanie Chiasera: violin
See Spot Run began in 1997 in San Diego, CA with singer/songwriting team Steve and Barb Potts. In its early stages, SSR would play local coffee houses as a duet, with Steve on acoustic guitar and Barb on vocals. Their first CD, “It’s a Dog’s Life”, was recorded in late 1997 and contains several tracks that are still favorites when SSR play live today. A second CD, “Dog Beach”, was released in 2001. This marked the start of a stretch beyond the acoustic singer/songwriter structure and featured violinist Joanie Chiasera on the track “Soul So Deep”. Steve had recorded the bass guitar lines for the CD, but in order to support the burgeoning material for live performances, it was clear that
