Raypac, as his friends call him writes songs that describe the trials, victories, and ever changing circumstances in life. Ray was exposed to a variety of musical flavors which included The Beatles, Elton John, StevieWonder, Billy Joel, and Andre Crouch. They all had a positive impact on Ray's songwriting.

Ray wrote a song titled "Amanda" which aired on the TV show "Infamous" after one of his early girlfriends decided to have an abortion without telling him. To see firsthand how difficult it was growing up as the youngest of nine siblings in the slums of New York City, Ray overcame adversities and expresses those realities in song.

Since his passion is writing, Ray learned the business aspect of the field and for the past ten years has been a writer/publisher member of ASCAP (Good G Music) in order to protect the vision. Ray also is a member of the Harry Fox Agency, and has recently applied to the National Music Publishers Association.
