song: Jubilee

genre: Jazz - Modern
stats: playlists: 0 | song plays: 104
artist comments: Thank you Mr. Beck for reviewing Jubilee. I am a novice with Pro Tools and I plan to take some courses to help me better understand this software. I plan to go to CUE recording studios in Falls Church, MD to get a professional audio engineer mix because there is so much I don't know. I am learning so much by submitting my music to professional reviewers and will take your advice as far as the mix and the vibra slap. By the way, that is a killer audio system you have---can I borrow it for a few minutes? (LOL) Perhaps on another review, I can get some tips on building a good home recording studio. I am limited with a keyboard, one speaker, and pro tools but funds are limited to purchase a better equipment at this time. I am trying for a unique blend of instrumentation and alot of my music is long in duration as I plan to market for music therapy and internet smooth jazz stations.
song: Blue Aliens

genre: Jazz - Modern
stats: playlists: 0 | song plays: 116
artist comments: Blue Aliens has many purposes and I am blending two musical themes intentionally for a different effect. The name represents people in society who suffer from the blues and alienate themselves from society. The first 4 bars captures the utter state of confusion of a depressed state and the sax solo is my attempt to make the sax almost speak in an almost human kind of way about the struggle with the blues and overcoming the blues using faith to reconnect with society and the celebration when that happens. The song is written to evoke different emotions at different points in the song to represent the ups and downs a person experiences when having the blues. I would like to market this as a sci-fi trailer or scene for a movie like Avatar or other sci-fi film or modern jazz radio programs. I plan to go to CUE recording studio for a better mix. Mr. Beck, I was scratching my head a little too after I wrote this song. Thanks again and I appreciate your Pro Opinion!
song: Pop King

genre: Jazz - Modern
stats: playlists: 0 | song plays: 72
artist comments: Mr. Beck sir thank you, thank you, thank you for your review! I will admit that another reviewer did not like the samples of instruments I utilized in Pop King. Pop King is indeed a Modern Jazz piece. I respect the opinions of all Pro's and appreciate the different opinions---I do like your opinion better but I know this song needs work especially sonic boost. As I am a novice PT 10 user, I have no clue yet about mastering and busing. I don't even know yet how to get pass 16 tracks on Pro Tools 10 using a Motif XS 8 which is why I will go to the recording studio soon to get this professionally done. Would certainly love for you to produce this song and hear your interpretation though. I have a few more songs coming your way soon to get your opinion on. Thanks again for the music tips and I am learning as I go! I will be retiring from my job on 2-1-13 to do music composing full time.
