Music Ministry
II Chronicles 5:13-14
It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth forever: that then the house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD; So that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of God.
Vision Statement
The Planting Praise Team, as one body unified in spirit and with a heart of purity, purpose to glorify God, to humbly serve Him in a spirit of excellence as ministers of music, hope, and agape love… To lead others into His divine presence through thanksgiving, praise and worship.
Mission statement
To inspire, encourage, train, and direct those whom God has called into the music ministry with a spirit of service, excellence, sensitivity, purity, humility and strength.
Thea Agnew
Thea began singing when she was four years old. At the young age of 7 she had a vision. In this vision she was an adult and singing on a platform with, what looked like, thousands adults in front of her. She has been searching for this platform since then.
At the age of 15 she was in her first band as a back up singer in Osan, Korea. She learned alot about her voice then. She continued to search and take classes on anything about music. The people around her said she couldn't sing very well, either too soft or flat. Her inner self still had the drive to find that platform.
In 1996, while in Illesheim, Germany, she had been married for 8 years and had 3 children, was overweight and thought that she would never been a singer now. She gave up hope to finding that platform. Then she prayed.
The Lord blessed her with a voice and she started singing with a Major for military functions and PWOC group. She joined the choir and did her first solo in 10 years. She wasn't soft or flat in her notes anymore.
When she came back to the US, she thought her vision for that platform was in the Country music field. She searched and was signed to a 2 year Production agreement in Franklin, TN and was asked by Presidents of record labels to audition. Looking back she sees that the Lord allowed her to see that He blessed her voice so much so that Record labels wanted her but that is not where He wanted her. That realization took a year to sink in and to understand.
She joined a local church and began singing again, after a year break, on the praise team. Then the church formed a Military mission called Parris Praise and she traveled with others from her church to Parris Island to minister to the fresh recruits in the Marine Corp every quarter. While on the platform at Parris Island, the Lord revealed to her that this is the platform she had been searching for. To sing to Me and minister to thousands with music about Me. To be a willing vessel I can use to minister to My children.
Thea let go of the Country Music scene because the Lord called her to something much bigger. She is now with The Planting as the Minister of Music/Worship and the Lord is molding her into what He wants to work through on His platform. She is new with leading but every Sunday it keeps getting better.
