just circular is the band name for the songs written and recorded by Paul Bodamer and some local and national studio musicians . The "in the field" CD contains some songs that could be classified as alt-country, old soul, ska and rock. Horns, B3, piano, mandolin, classical guitar, and upright bass all find their way into some cleverly crafted songs. Add in a solid male vocal and you have just circular.

Paul continues to write, record, and produce in his pro-level home studio. just circular also performs both acoustic and full-band shows on the local music scene in and around Columbia, SC.

just circular is a studio band put together by Paul Bodamer. He wrote 30 or so songs over the past 2 years and chose 11 that seemed good enough to put out on the decut CD - "in the field". He played everything he knew how to play (and tried some other instruments just to prove he doesn't take himself too seriously) and hired on some local and national talent to put on some polish. The songs cover all the genres that fill his CD collection, but manage to sound original.

Each song tells a story and has something about it that is catchy. Ultimately, Paul would like to continue to write and record but longs for some artists who are truly reaching for the "big time", or who have already made it, to record some of his compositions.

Paul formed jangly records to release his own CD and hopes that with the label and his recording studio he can help some new emerging artists to prove that there is a lot of talent in the Carolinas and Georgia waiting to be discovered.
