Formed in 2001 by singer-songwriter Fretless, PAINT developed a mature, colourful and eclectic sound with the classical stylings of cellist Timbuktu. Add the luscious harmonies of Karen O’Hearn and Annie Robichaud, horns, slick percussion and layers of strings and you find yourself with one of the most exciting acts in recent memory, challenging the conventions of modern music.

PAINT’s emotionally-charged debut “Urban Folk Tales” culminates diversity and activism, fusing folk, funk, rock, hip-hop, reggae, ska and pop with passionate and insightful lyrical narratives; passing through the Motown-fueled “White Sheep”, the picturesque “The Open Road”, genre-blending “Girlie Boy”, the gritty and beautiful “Madonna” and the gorgeous social commentary of “Rivers” en route an inspiring and enlightening musical journey.

Produced by Peacemaker Records co-founder Shuggy Milligan, “Urban Folk Tales” transcends boundaries with accessible artistic communication.
