Bio

Orbis 3 is a two-person project (so far!). The whole idea behind it stems from bringing to the fore issues of environment and social justice issues. In the process we try to kick out some wicked tunes that will help get people motivated, out of their listless mode of life, and start thinking more farsightedly than what we are being blidfolded into believing. We need to look up, and stand up, coz' we don't inherit the earth from our ancestors; we are borrowing it from our children

Emcee Bongobennagee (25) is originally from Perth and is always on the road around Oz and abroad, pursuing various social justice issues and environmental campaigns whilst studying every now and then. However, this year he did manage to settle his arse down for a few months in Tasmania, hence the inspiration for the track, ‘Stand Tall (old growth anthem)’ which is about protecting Tasmania's last old-growth forests from logging companies. Currently he works for The Wilderness Society.

Jumping Jupiter (25) is originally from Italy and has lived in Australia since he was 14. Currently he is completing his PhD in colonial history, but he spends most of his time in the studio procrastinating. JJ, who wrote the music for Orbis 3, has a background of classical, jazz, and metal.... He has spent every last cent of his meager student allowance on putting together a home recording studio for various projects, which include these collaborations with MC Ben, and with other musicians in Melbourne and Perth
