Growing up in a family with a deep musical tradition you would think N.A.W.T.Y Boi had royal treatment growing up. But reality is that the great grandson of Creole Cajun Music pioneer Alphonse Bois Sec Ardoin only benefitted the musical gene. Creole music is global but not up there with the multi million dollar genres thats out today. So therefor it wasnt no handouts giving. He actually grew up poor living in Lake Charles, LA section 8 housing and later moving to the carver court projects. He was a born talent though it was often overshadowed by the sucess of his older relatives that had already had a name for themselves. He began playing keyboard at the tender age of 5 and then started writing poems and eventually writing raps. His cousin MC NERO a pioneer of the Baton Rouge rap scene had a hit on the radio which had NB craving to do the same. His uncle Harold Guillory a local celebrity known for his powerful voice would be praticing for shows and NB would go and ask him could he perform with him. Harold notice his nephew talent and let him pratice with him while he rehearsed for his shows. Unfortunatly it wasnt until August 1999 that NB got notice publicly for his songwriting talents when his younger brother passed away at the age of 13. NB wrote a song called Brother like no other which caught the attention of many public figures. NB then started entering talent shows rapping winning it looked as so he was on his way for fame. He attended Southern University Baton Rouge eventually dropping out to pursue his music career he started performing at local clubs and then got offered to host his own local Hip Hop show called the Nu South TV show which he gained much success as he met some of the souths most respected artist. The show was eventually cancelled and NB was on the verge of giving up and when it seems like it couldnt get any worst hurricane katrina and rita came knocking at the door. At this time NB was expecting his first child so with his prorities in order he enlisted in the US AIR FORCE leaving his music career in the back of his mind. He got settled in Hampton VA and is now attempting to make a comeback and hes not letting nothing stop him with his first independant single dropping in 2006 already picked up for a feature on the Happy Hour movie soundtrack NB has a promising future ahead. He recently signed a movie deal with Doncreates Productions in ATL. but his love is music and he is currently looking for management while he is helping upcoming artist develop there skills. N.A.W.T.Y boi is really a name that will be on the music charts soon.
