Broadjam Member Newsletter: 7-20-06, #361

Dear Broadjam Member,

We appreciate hearing back from our members on their musical accomplishments. From getting music featured in a movie or TV series to receiving massive airplay from radio stations, Broadjam members have been experiencing all kinds of success. We have decided to take this week's newsletter and focus on four specific Broadjam member success stories. These are only a few of the many that we receive, and we encourage you to share with us examples of your musical achievements. To contact us, email with "Success Story" as the subject heading. Also remember that this is great information to include on your Artist Profile.

Speaking of success, we have put together a program called MailJam to help bring more fans to Broadjam to discover your music and buy your downloads. Broadjam Founder & CEO Roy Elkins has just posted his thoughts on how we can work together to increase the independent music fan community. We hope you'll join us in making this effort a huge success!

Before you read about these members, be sure to check out one of our ongoing contests below.

Broadjam member The Burst Collective has added American Idol to their list of credits, licensing Burst Music selections to help tie Idol's top-rated fifth season together. The Burst Collective is no stranger to high profile gigs, having composed and produced music for major media outlets, national ad campaigns and a host of other exciting projects including Emma Roberts' debut (Columbia), the Felicity Season 4 DVD and a custom music package for GE's Annual Meeting (January 2006) held in Boca Raton, Florida.

A consortium of composers, songwriters and performers formerly based in Los Angeles and now in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, The Burst Collective operates as three separate entities: Burst Music, Burst HQ and Burst Records. Julie Moffitt's Burst Records debut, The Stolen EP, features a copy of Sony Acid XPress software in ROM as part of a joint promotion.  Drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, Melissa Etheridge, Smashing Pumpkins and Avril Lavigne) graces Owen Sartori's October 2006 debut Another Beautiful Day in the Cube, but you can hear a preview of what's to come - and two exclusive bonus mixes - on Selections From The Cube - an EP, available now from Burst Records.

Featured Member:  MRMORE - "My Young Boi"

Trakk Addictz Production team member, MRMORE, has been churning out hit beats since 1997. In this time span he has worked on numerous compilations, mixtapes, and DVDs, including the "Pitch Control Mixtape DVD" featuring 50 Cent, Juvenile, Slick Rick, and other big name artists. MRMORE has also produced and released his own album From the Trapt to the Trakk, which is out right now.

Recently, MRMORE produced "My Young Boi," which has been picked up by independent film director, Jay Swain, to be used in Swain's upcoming film City College 9. The movie chronicles the true story of nine people who were tragically killed while attending a celebrity basketball game that took place in 1991 at City College in New York City. On "My Young Boi" MRMORE calls on the lyrical talents of rappers Devour and Wize-G to complement his own unique style. Devour, who happens to also be MRMORE's 15-year-old son, brings an unexpected mature sound to the track that maintains the serious tone evoked by Wize-G from the opening lyrics. Both Devour and Wize-G have also had MRMORE help out on their own solo projects: Devour's digital album, Born Into It, and Wize-G's My Time 2 Shine.

Featured Member:  Gary Rebholz

For the last 25 years, Gary Rebholz has been best known as "Buster Fayte" around the local Madison, Wisconsin music scene. As part of the trio "Kevin Fayte and the Rocket 8," Rebholz enjoyed some local success with their solo album, Ridin' in a Rocket and other original works that have been put on compilation albums.

It was under his recent alias, "Samy Max and the Dual Exhaust," that he has received national recognition. Rebholz, along with other artists, has recently had his music featured on the Rapid Remodel TV series, a California-based show that gives a team of tradesmen, vendors, and interior decorators a 1-2 week deadline to finish a huge home makeover. Rebholz's music that will be used in some of the episodes was produced entirely by Rebholz himself, from the drums to the guitar and bass parts.

When asked about his recent success, Rebholz claims that he "was not pursuing any kind of musical notoriety" when posting his music, but that all changed when Producer Allen Tatomer contacted him about using some of his music for Rapid Remodel. Tatomer discovered Rebholz's music right here at Broadjam and he stated, "If it wasn't for Broadjam, we never would have found this amazing artist."

Mellodog, a musician from Manchester, New Hampshire, joins Gary Rebholz as another musician whose music was discovered on Broadjam and featured on the Rapid Remodel TV series. Mellodog characterizes his music as "delivering explosive Rockabilly Rhythm & Blues peppered with Funky Classic Rock and a li'l bit o' Jazz on the side."

Allen Tatomer, producer for the series, calls Mellodog a "young firebrand who is out to set the world on fire," and a band that he would "love to see live."
