Bio

Michel Meanwhile cut his teeth in New York City playing guitar, bass, piano, drums, and singing harmonies for a number of bands and songwriters. Performing with various artists, in top NYC venues proved rewarding, but Meanwhile knew that breaking away was a chance to find his own voice. So in the final month of 2003, he bid farewell to his lifelong home and headed for the unfamiliar skyline of Portland, Oregon.
In February 2004, Meanwhile released his first solo recording with the help of producer/multi-instrumentalist Paul Umbach and long time collaborator Garth McDermott.
This self titled CD quickly joined the ranks of CDBabys Top Sellers and started receiving radio airplay on both coasts. Three tracks, "Sun & Stars", "Kick It Around" and "13 States" are regularly featured on the WB's "Summerland".
"First Love" is being featured on the re-release of FOX's "Party of Five" to home video, as well as the independent film "Survive This" and was voted Track Of the Week on Garageband.com. "California" was selected by Jeep to be the soundtrack for their "2004 Camp Jeep" promotion.
The songs are honest and arousing with lyrics that ring true to anyone interested in life beyond their immediate line of sight. A profound declaration in the tradition of thoughtful songwriters and poets alike.
Today, Michael can be found with his guitar, in one venue or another, playing his songs for all who will listen.
