Bio/History of M. HUNT

From early on Hunt knew he was destined to be a part of the rap game. He grew up bumping to the beats of Das Efx and LL Cool J. As a young child in school he was notorious for entertaining the class and reciting verses from one of LL Cool J’s songs like “I need love” and “Radio”. LL Cool J inspired Hunt and made him believe that “his style” of sharing his story with the world had a chance in the game. Once hometown group Bone Thugs N Harmony entered the scene, Hunt knew had to get put on in the rap game. As time went on Hunt began free-styling and battling whoever and whenever possible. After perfecting his craft via battling, Hunt began writing more songs about his everyday life. Nevertheless, Hunt’s talent went unnoticed for some time.

This Dayton Ohio native’s skill was first recognized by Columbia Records during one of their talent searches. He has performed at the Roxy, made recurring appearances on Hot 107.9’s Freestyle Fridays and was one of four to win a contest sponsored by Hot 107.9 and Fubu. He has mesmerized crowds with his appearances at the So So Def Southeast Talent Showcase, The Black College Tour, Arnell Star Showcase and Hot 107.9’s Okeni Showcase at the Royal Peacock. Hunt’s music has been featured on several DJ Mix tapes such as “From The O” on DJ Drama’s tape, “Right With God” on DJ Scorpio’s and “Getcha Ass On the Floor” on DJ Brad’s (So So Def). Additionally, he has worked with Kage (Keith Sweat), The Unit (India Arie) and Roy Holliday of Something For The People. Hunt’s Hit single “Checking For You” is currently blazing Atlanta’s airwaves. His upcoming project, “Road to Redemption” contains his current hit, along with the chart stoppers “9-5” and “Ordinary Man”. This album is a chronological account of Hunt’s life, his struggles, his successes and what eventually led the rapper to God.

Off-stage, Hunt’s laidback, calm demeanor gives no glimpse of what’s brewing inside…a vibrant, passionate, dedicated hip-hop artist with a burning desire to share his life story. As he steps on stage, the calmness fades, and an edgy, confident, streetwise poet shares his story with each listener. Once he starts to spit the verse, you are immediately engaged…you can feel the energy, effort, and emotion that goes into each song. Hunt’s vibe is reminiscent of the rap forefathers who had passion, dedication and a love for Hip-Hop. By the time Hunt is done, you’ve walked a mile in his shoes and you want to follow and see where the journey ends.
