Matthew "Mato" Gucu :: One singer, Two bands, Great songs all around
In 1995, after 5 years of highschool choral training, Matt joined forces with Las Vegas songwriter, Michael Stratton to create the pop rock outfit called, 12 Volt Sex. After two years together, 12 Volt Sex signed a deal with RCA records. Although the album was never released, Matt gained the experience of working with industry pros such as Rob Schnapf, Tom Rothrock, Jerry Finn & Chris Lord-Alge.
After the RCA deal faded, Matt moved on to form his next serious project, The Side Room. This time sharing the musical canvas with long time friend Richard Pryde Hughes. Matt feels that the challenges of songwriting and the adventures of self recording & producing have never been so rewarding until this latest incarnation of his artistry.
