MARILLIAN AVENUE is a five piece indie, rock band from Hornsby, Sydney. The initial line-up consisted of four year ten school boys pulling together Goo-Goo Dolls and Oasis covers in 2003. Since then, the band has seen the introduction of new drummer, Luke Bayne and Guitarist, Sam Thomlinson, as well as a wider range of influences and styles and a push towards writing their own material. Midway through 2006 the Avenue began playing regular gigs around the Sydney live music scene, performing at venues such as, The Mandirin Club and Sydney R.S.L. Taking a break from gigs at the beginning of 2007, the band began recording their independent E.P, due to be finished by the end of the year. The E.P will aim to show-off the different styles of the band with a five song selection from their 14 original song repertoire. The Avenue, is considered to be a fusion of rock, indie and funk styles, creating unique sound, presenting catchy sing-along choruses and tight musicality.
