Candra started as a model in Arizona before moving to Los Angeles. In LA, she continued her modeling career and branched out to include acting. Being a dancer she was in music videos that were shown on MTV internationally; as well as Playboy's Hot Rocks. Deciding she wanted to pursue singing, she studied with Seth Riggs and Ron Anderson to get her chops in place. She then studied Hindu mantras with Bhagvan Das. She met multimedia artist, Van Ark after he moved to LA from a fourteen year stint in Jamaica. While in Jamaica, Van studied percussion and the "heartbeat rhythm of reggae". They have recently formed MadHatR Multimedia which is producing two documentaries; as well some video shorts for their website www.NuThink.com -in addition to their music. InannaRising is a collaborative effort. Lipslick is Candra's solo debut; while Bushwacked is Van Ark's solo musical commentary on our current situation.
