Lorenzo Biography

In a rare meeting backstage at Cincinnati’s Music Hall, music legend, Prince asked singer/songwriter, Marko, “Do you believe the cream will rise to the top?”

After Marko responded, “I always do,” Prince continued, “Then you have nothing to worry about.”

Like similar rock artists, Daughtry, Buckcherry and 3 Doors Down, Lorenzo’s sound is characterized by great songs driven by high-energy guitar.

Their current release, “Love Shape Bruise,” is now in stores nationwide while the CD’s first single, “Nothin Left To Talk About,” has received a number of adds and spins across the country.

They recorded the tracks at Sunset Sound in Hollywood with producer, Kevin Churko (Juno-winning producer of Ozzy Osbourne’s Grammy-Nomintaed CD, Black Rain and Mutt Lange’s engineer/programmer in recent years), ironically, in the same studio that Prince recorded all of his albums up to and including Purple Rain.

”This is the kind of band every producer dreams of,” Churko stated.

The song, “I Think About Sex” aired on CBS’s “Shark” and other songs from the CD have been used in “Threshold,” and “3lbs.” The CD won the Popular Vote at the Worldwide Independent Music Awards (Musician’s Atlas) for “Best Rock CD” after being named Finalists for “Best Rock CD.”

After recording the CD, Marko played with a number of musicians until a run of shows paired them up with band called “Lowa,” featuring Steve Tucker from “Morbid Angel.”

After finding that they had a lot in common, Lowa bass player, Jason VieBrooks, who has played in “Grip, Inc.” with Slayer’s Dave Lombardo, and drummer, Steve Uma, who has recorded and toured in the bands, “Testament,” and “Mandmade God” with Rick Rubin, all joined forces.

What has evolved with the addition of guitarists D.V White and Jeff Munroe is a hard-hitting, huge guitar sound with great melodies and a non-stop live rock show.

Lorenzo just signed a new deal with BusyBoy Records run by Jack Paar, who will be re-releasing some songs from Love Shape Bruise while adding 2 brand new studio tracks on a brand new CD.

Lorenzo was the only rock band named out of six finalists in the Billboard/Diskmakers IMWS Awards and was the first unsigned band to ever play the 20,500 seat Riverbend Music Center when they played with 3 Doors Down. After receiving considerable airplay on WEBN, they co-headlined the Labor Day Fireworks show for over 50,000 in Cincinnati with Hinder. They were invited to tour with Poison and have shared the stage with bands like Default, Crossfade, Tesla, Warrant and many more.

Their sposorship team includes; Parker Guitars, Dean Markley Strings, Basson Amplification, Eden Bass Amplifiers, BC Rich Basses and Male Dog Clothing.

It will be no surprise to anyone familiar with Lorenzo that they are poised to introduce the newest and most cutting-edge line of rock ‘n’ roll super-heroes.
