Among the host of adult-contemporary bands, the sound of the Louey Moss Band stands out: reflecting a barrage of influences ranging from the urban, street-savvy R 'n' B of Curtis Mayfield and Stevie Wonder and the luscious melodies of Anita Baker and Oleta Adams to the hard-driving funk-rock of Anastacia, vocalist Louey Moss and keyboardist/arranger Amy Z created an infectious sound all their own.

Their compositions, driven by Louey's deeply emotional vocals, Amy's sensitive and captivating arrangements and the unmistakable guitar solo voice of Jennifer Burleton (Al Jarreau Group) are finely-crafted, VH1-ready little gems with all the potential to become modern-day classics.

Bio

Louey Moss takes the stage with a swagger any diva would die for and rips into a supercharged funk-rock number. Raucous and sassy, she propels her audience into a frenzy. Between bits of delightful banter, she cues the group into a soulful R 'n' B ballad. Her voice barely a whisper, she caresses each note before sending it on its way to her enthralled listeners. Louey's rapport with her audience is second to none.

The daughter of a NY blues singer, a Pentecostal minister and sister to the late Broadway actor Martin Moss, Louey was infused with a deep appreciation for the roots of Black American music and the magic of musical theater.

Extended touring led her to Berlin, where she now makes her home. Louey’s first hit on the German charts came in 1997 with “Get Closer“. Shortly thereafter, she met her creative soul mate, pianist Amy Z, whose near-visceral connection with black music made her a featured musician for artists like Grammy nominee Aron Burton. In Amy, you get remarkable dexterity, deep emotional expression and a sense of showmanship all rolled into one as she dances across the piano with her fingers and, dare we say... toes if the mood strikes her.

Together, Louey and Amy have forged a unique group sound, beyond all stylistic pigeonholes. And with musicians who have played with the likes of Al Jarreau, Percy Sledge, or Pink Floyd, they’ve got the artistic muscle to make their vision a reality: Music that touches the heart, songs that make a difference.
