Lisa Frazier's Bio

Every once in while, if we're lucky, a performer comes along imbued with a talent so uncommon that we are left breathless...speechless...awed, and instantly wanting more.

Lisa Frazier is such a performer. Whether it is singing to sold out crowds, performing musical theatre, or recording her original compositions in the recording studio, Lisa always leaves her audience wanting more.

By age twelve, Lisa was already captivating audiences, singing at events in her hometown of Washington DC. She later attended the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she majored in vocal performance. Not one to be limited to a single discipline, she was also a member of the Everyman Street Theatre Company, performing musical theatre throughout the east coast, including Lincoln Center and the Kennedy Center.

Lisa's next stop was Oberlin College where she accepted a full scholarship to attend their world-renowned conservatory of music, majoring in vocal performance.
After college, she was offered the role of Luisa in "The Fantastiks" for which she received rave reviews. Her next role was the Narrator in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at the City Line Theatre in Philadelphia.

No longer able to ignore the allure of performing her own music, Lisa envisioned a girl group. She invited two other singers to join with her and Shades Of Lace was born. Shortly after relocating to Los Angeles, they signed with Wing/Polygram Records. The result was a top 10 Billboard song followed by several other songs that charted. Lace, as they were now known, were featured in magazines and appeared on Live at the Apollo, CNN's Showbiz Tonight, Soul Train, BET's Video Soul and others.

Not wanting to be defined by Lace, Lisa spread her wings and recorded a solo project on the UDP/Universal label, titled "Heart of Gold". The first single "Somewhere Tonight" climbed the DMA charts all the way to #3.

Touring throughout Europe and Japan in support of her debut release, Lisa performed at sold out venues, television shows and a few private affairs including one for Luciano Pavarotti at his estate in Italy.

Lisa was featured on the soundtracks for "Losing Isaiah" and "Perfect Holiday", as well as on multiple national jingles for Coca Cola, Mitsubishi, Gatorade and others. Lisa has also has toured, recorded and/or performed with the likes of Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, George Duke, Survivor (she sang a duet with Jimi Jamieson on the single, Empires), Boz Scaggs, Stevie Wonder, Eddie Murphy, Bobby Womack and Jennifer Lopez.

Most recently, Lisa toured with reggae royalty--Ziggy Marley, on his Love Is My Religion tour.

Lisa Frazier is currently busy working on her sophomore project. Driven to share universal love through her music, Expressions promises to leave Lisa's listeners breathless...speechless...awed, and as always, wanting more.
