“While technical talent isn’t hard to find, poetic, emotive songwriting – the stuff that chokes you up or reminds you of what’s important in life – is a rarity. Kris Nichols is among the handful of artists with such a gift for song.”

Bio

From the depths of central Florida there is a voice. You know it’s there, you can feel it. You can feel its sweet melodies and ambient bliss crawling up your spine in a possessing twist. It enraptures you whole. As it takes over your being, it sings its genuine tune of everything you have always felt, but could never find the right words to say. It is sincerity, passion, creativity and exaltation at its finest. That voice belongs to singer/songwriter, Kris Nichols.

Based in Orlando, Nichols’ love for music came at an early age, repeatedly falling asleep in front of the speaker at his mom’s late-night Bunko parties incapacitated with a creative vision. At the age of 15, he purchased his first guitar and now, 12 years later, at the ripe age of 27, the instrument has not only become his own, but a part of his every being. Heavily inspired by Eric Clapton, Elliot Smith, Bright Eyes and Nike Drake, Nichols’ authentic blend of softness, warmth and honesty allows his music to bleed through in a way similar to his idols, yet entirely his own.

Having treaded water in and out of numerous Florida area bands as a guitarist, Nichols felt not only the want, but the need to produce something of his own and on his own. Feeling a victim of the “not singing” syndrome so frequently diagnosed in bands, Kris promptly began the process of forging the poetry and random words in his journal into beautifully intricate songs. With the release of his first full-length album, Independent Release
