Kandia play a strong rock with solid melody and filling acoustic guitars. They are based on their two founder and ONLY members Nya Cruz and Andre.
On live performances they are supported by guest musicians.
Everything they've done so far has been earned by themselves.
They now have support from Randall Amplifiers and DDrum.
Kandia want to bring strong light to rock music.

KANDIA are born in November 2007 from A.C. & Nya's experiments. From jamming at home to entering a studio to record their first work only 8 months have passed. After a home made pre-production, USS facilities became the obvious choice for these musicians who, together with producer Daniel Cardoso & his talented assistant Pedro Mendes made the "Light" shine a month later.
Nya came from a background of metal music, being the voice & words to gothic-rock band Love Lies Eternal.
A.C. has always been connected to progressive rock, working with Miguel Santos "Broken Hourglass" project & his own "Backlit". They would later meet up at a new hard-rock project, and departure after a concert at the portuguese SBSR Festival.
A change of pace was obvious for both & they would start exchanging ideas very quickly. Soon enough, with the birth of "Grown Up", they were certain that they were getting somewhere.
Nevertheless, their effort is to make meaningfull music. The name itself comes from Cape Verde's word "kandia" which means "blinding by light ".
