I am a songwriter/guitarist in Virginia. I picked up the guitar after hearing the "Sultans of Swing" in 1979. I prefer finger-style playing and can compose songs in many different genres. The material for the songs come from life experiences and reading. I take seriously Mark Knopfler's opinion that "the song is king!" Everything else is secondary. So my compositions hopefully convey a clear message combined with compositional textures to portray a unique setting. I have a thematical approach in my lyrics with a focus on place-in-time events/situations. I play and record all of the instruments presented in my songs except the occasional live drums/percussion.
