The JLB as they are known, is a band that’s, “a little on the outlaw side of Country…” While being able to rock a packed venue with their southern rock style, they are also able to bring in the grass roots and softer side of contemporary country music. John Lane

John Gregory Lane was born in Winter Haven, Florida on February 18, 1979, and raised in central Florida. After graduating high school at Winter Haven Senior High, he enlisted with the 290th Air National Guard at MacDill AFB, in Tampa , Florida. John was called to active duty on September 12th, 2001 after the World Trade Center attack.

John spent the next three years on Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and other operations in support of the Global War on Terrorism, where apart from his military duties, John also entertained his fellow troops with songs and music about their situations concerning the war effort. In 2004 John was released from active duty and spent the next nine months at Special Operations Command, Pacific in Hawaii. There he met William “Bull” Robinson and the two began writing songs again that showed their appreciation for the military and their ability to produce quality country music. They acquired the help of On the Rock Recording Studios, in Honolulu, Hawai’i, and formed the group “Guitar Pickers & City Slickers.” In February 2005, John recorded his first demo album “For Love of Country.”

That demo album sold over 2500 copies without a major record label! John returned home to Florida in May of 2005 where he rejoined with the 290th Florida Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant and currently works for the Joint Communications Support Element at MacDill Air Force Base. Since returning home John has performed for numerous events with his new band simply titled: The John Lane Band. Most notable on the performance schedule include: Multiple performances at the Hard Rock Casino (Tampa, FL), one where the band opened for American Idol singer Bo Bice; Legends Field (Tampa, FL), where John performed the National Anthem; headlining The Abbeville Atumnfest (Abbeville, MS); The Gertrude C. Ford Center at the University of Mississippi (Oxford, MS); The El Sombrero (Sarasota, FL); The Lakeland Pigfest at Tiger Stadium (Lakeland, FL); The Annual Veteran’s Day Celebration at Munn Park (Lakeland, FL); and numerous other venues in and around the Central Florida area. John’s proudest achievement in his music career was having his military tribute song from his first album, “Why Soldiers Cry”, played on a reporting radio station, 97 Country WPCV, in Lakeland, Florida. John has done numerous radio and television interviews in the 2005-2006 year and has finished recording his second album: “The Way We Do it in the South” at Powerstation Studios, in Pompano Beach, Florida with Bongovi-Entertainment. The CD is scheduled to be released November 22nd, 2006 in John’s hometown and participating locations in Central Florida.
