Joe’s interest in music began at an early age. At the age of 5, he was performing solos at the Louisiana First Jurisdictional’ Church Of God In Christ Convention, and performing in an opera entitled “Noah’s Ark” at the age of 7. He can recall that he was one of the only students in elementary school who went from class to class with a tambourine performing for all those who would listen.

Joe’s talent in both his professional and musical life is well known by many throughout the area and in parts of the country. He is frequently sought out for advice from others who are either performing or recording albums. Not only has he excelled in his position as a Manager at Burger King, winning praises from his superiors, but he also finds time to give back to his community. Joe founded the Sulphur Community Youth Rap Sessions, which gives youth’s opportunities to rap about their personal feelings, ideas, etc. in a comfortable setting. He also founded and directed a community choir, The Majestic Voices of Praise. On Sunday and throughout the week, he plays for various churches in Lake Charles and Sulphur, Louisiana and in Texas.

Some of the best highlights of Joe’s career was when he performed with Bobby Jones and performed in gospel workshops with well-known talent, Kirk Franklin. His performance in a show headed by Barbara Mandrell in Abilene, Texas is also a memorable occasion. He remembers his first live professional performance with the Edward Hawkins Family at the age of thirteen.

His affiliation with Invitation Music Group, a Platinum Member of the Gospel Music Association, has allowed him to attend the Dove Awards in Nashville on several occasions. Joe recently released his album, “Breakthrough” which has been enthusiastically received.
