Currently the resident composer for the American Studio Orchestra at the Johns Hopkins University, Jacob Yoffee works in both the concert and the film world. "Spare Change", a film whose score combines intimate string underscoring with jazz, premiered at the 2010 HBO Latino Film Festival in NYC. His score for "The Ghost & Us", directed by Emily Carmichael, featured a live jazz score combined with a standard orchestral underscore and the film won Best Short Film at the Philadelphia Film-A-Thon and was featured at the 2009 CineVegas Film Festival. He was signed to Inner Circle Music Records in 2007, releasing his debut album, "Dead Reckoning." The album's release concert garnered an article featuring Yoffee in the New York Times and he was featured on the cover of Saxophone Journal magazine for his work. His music has been performed abroad at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival, the Royal Academy of Music, and on BBC Radio.
