About "It Came From Cleveland"

After having grown tired of the revolving-door policy that seemed to surround the personnel of the local bands he had been a part of, John McClellan began to place an emphasis on developing his songwriting skills. Soon afterward, he crossed paths with Tim Workman, a fellow alumnus of Cleveland State University. The two found they shared a strikingly similar interest in music, and subsequently proceeded with songwriting and recording sessions. Although Workman contributed greatly to McClellan’s debut solo album, "None Hit Wonder," his interest in developing as a lyricist, and composer slowly diminished. Nevertheless, a collaborative effort among several Cleveland musicians titled "It Came From Cleveland!" was then produced under the direction of John McClellan. Many of the songs included on "It Came From Cleveland!" were, in fact, written by McClellan and Workman, and the compilation featured a variety of musical styles including Pop, Rock, Reggae, Oldies, Surf Rock, Traditional/Folk, and Country. Among the many artists John has collaborated with are: Tim Workman, Thespian Dean, Katie Knapp, Felicia Rosati, Sylvia Toy, The Surfadelics, Jimmy Dobric and Barry Branham. John has recently finished producing Felicia Rosati’s debut (http://www.myspace.com/feliciarosati), and is currently recording material for "It Came From Cleveland Too!"
