Horace Music

Horace Music is a London based electronic dance-pop duo. The band formed in August 1999 when singer-songwriter Karl Wilson (a former city lawyer and Musical Theatre graduate from the Royal Academy of Music) started jamming along to a set being played by DJ and dance music producer Peter Rolls (a onetime electrical engineering student and IT consultant) at a house party in Surrey.

In 2002, they moved into a flat in Holloway, North London, to write and record the material for their debut album. They soon found their trademark sound: melodic synths, tough kick drums, fat basslines and heavily processed vocals “full of testosterone, ego, and confidence”, as one reviewer put it.

In the summer of 2003, the duo teamed up with VJ and producer/director Scott Jaeger to make the video for “Dangerous”.

Scott was subsequently recruited to provide live visuals at Horace Music’s shows.

A couple of 12-inch remixes by Peter followed in 2003 and 2004, with success in London, Europe and North America, both in clubs and on dance music radio stations, including Kiss FM.

More recently, Horace Music has stormed Garageband.com, the premier website for independent artists, receiving across the board critical acclaim from reviewers.

Horace Music combines 80's New Romanticism, 90's Electronic Pop and the current sounds of the underground. Influences include the Pet Shop Boys, Underworld, Depeche Mode and New Order.
