Hey, Welcome to my website. Thanks for stopping by. I currently have 9 songs available for you to listen to. I am getting ready to upload a few more very soon. After a long layoff from music, I realized I needed to get back into it somehow. Songwriting became the most desired path back to a world I sorely missed. Most people remember me as a sax player, so I included the horn in my pictures. Currently, I am using the keyboard and my brain to write lyrics and compose songs. The Biography of George Linitz

After the events of 9-11-2001, I felt that I could not wait any longer to get back into music. I went down to the basement, dusted off an old keyboard and began working on a tribute song for a friend lost in the twin towers. That song is entitled " We will remember you."
Born and raised in Queens , N.Y. I attended high school in N.Y.C. where I picked up the saxophone. The school was located adjacent to Lincoln Center which served as great inspiration. Then I attended Queens College as a music major. It was there I learned how to play the piano by taking keyboard 101. Eventually I played in rock, jazz and wedding bands. I left college after only a year to become an electrician. After working during the day, I would travel into the city and play in different clubs.
We played in the village, soho, and later in some of the "Big" clubs, i.e. Red Parrot, Studio 54, and The Underground.
Most friends and family remember trucking into the city to see us play in a band called " The Mixx ." We were an original new wave/funk group that had a unique sound.
We played for a few years together and I was always proud to be a member of that band. When the band split apart and the reality of " making it " fizzled, I settled down, got married and started a family.
So now I'm back to writing songs and working with musicians and vocalists I respect and admire.
