Bio

After a 3 year stint as the lead guitarist for an indie/rock band from Kansas City, Grant Richard prepares to unveil his newest project, this time...solo. Although not a far cry from his previous project, his new EP ‘Hear Me Now’ paints a picture that leaves fans captivated. His material strikes very close to home to thousands of listeners who already agree on one thing...the emotion. What follows are messages from genuine fans who, like so many others, have discovered the true emotion in Grant’s music:

Hey Grant,
You really capture some serious emotion--I was thoroughly impressed. The success you have on (myspace) isn't surprising at all to me; your talent creates something that is simply infectious and it consumes anyone who listens. Thanks. -Mark Andrew - Orlando, FL

Hey Grant,
I REALLY like your music. Something about it reaches right into my heart (seriously). You're really quite talented and I hope you never stop writing and doing what you do. -Kelly - San Francisco, CA

Hey Grant,
I just wanted to let you know that I think you're absolutely wonderful. You have a phenomenal voice and your words have a way of hitting home. I love when an artist can combine the right melody with just the right words and bring it to life with the perfect voice, which is exactly what you've done. Take Care. -Sarah - Chicago, IL

In his former band, Grant never wrote a single lyric to any song, so it is somewhat surprising that he writes lyrics such as ‘I feel a strength, I’m not to sure of where it comes from, but I don’t care, it almost feels like it’s your hand...again’. If the listener were to read between the lines, one would observe a copious longing for more than what Grant sees in this lifetime. He writes:

"Starting with silence, we wonder...wonder why. A whisper breaks the silence. The whisper dares you to listen, yearns to be heard, yet can't be heard. Be it profound to man, or condemning of our nature, it says what it means...it speaks, but silently.”

“I write songs for myself, from my heart and my experiences. Some come from questions in my mind, others from relationships" says Grant. “I wrote a lot of these songs while on the road with Uncommonsense, mostly while I was hiding from life on the road. I must admit though that without my experiences in Uncommonsense, I would not be the man I am today, writing songs like these. I only hope my work can spark an emotions in people so much that they uncover whatever it is they’re looking for.”
