TWO CATEGORY WINNERS

The winner in the Pop/Rock/Alternative/R&B Category will write a song with hit songwriter Keith Follese whose many credits include country song of the year "The Way You Love Me," the huge Faith Hill hit.

The winner in the Country/Americana Category will write a song at the EXPO with hit songwriter Dave Berg (ASCAP's 2008 country songwriter of the year) whose hits include CMA song of the year nominee "Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban.

Each winner will also receive a SINGLE SONG PUBLISHING DEAL!

The Pop/Rock/Alternative/R&B category winner will have the opportunity to publish with Crossfire Music.

The Country/Americana category winner will have the opportunity to publish with HoriPro Music - Nashville.

The publishing deal includes studio time to record a professional guitar or piano/vocal demo of the song written by the winner in each category!

The winner in each category will receive free Registration* in the 2009 Colorado Springs, CO EXPO (a $299 value), October 8-10th, 2009.

SIX RUNNERS UP

Three runners up in each category will each win HALF PRICE Expo Registration* (a $150 value).

*Transportation to the EXPO, meals and lodging, are the responsibility of the participants.

For years we thought about creating a "contest" to be incorporated somehow into our Durango Songwriters EXPOs. How to do it? What to give for prizes? Money? Recording time? Gear? All great ideas but DONE DONE DONE already.

Here's a thought: What does EVERY ASPIRING SONGWRITER WANT?

Well, yes, to write a hit song but, aside from that...? How about CO-WRITING with an ESTABLISHED HIT SONGWRITER?!? That's it! Who wouldn't get excited about that?

So that's what we created in our now annual WRITE A WITH A HIT-MAKER Contest!

The winners in each category (Pop/Rock/Alternative/R&B and Country/Americana) of each contest get to write a song with one of our top hit songwriters!

First Pop winner, Alissa Moreno, wrote with Jeffrey Steele at the Santa Barbara Expo and that song became the Grammy nominated #1 hit for Rascal Flatts, "Every Day".

Three of the first 6 winners have signed publishing deals!

And that's not all! In addition to this incredible opportunity to get a magical co-write with an established hit songwriter, our friends in the music publishing business helped SWEETEN THE DEAL!
