Metric (dj), a young 20-year old dj/producer/remixer has already left behind him an unusual and promising trail. Though he was influenced by artists from a wide range of musical styles (Abba, Devo, Genesis, Front 242), his first musical love was for Hip-hop (Run Dmc, N.W.A.,). From November 1997, he starts making a name on the local Montreal dj circuit mixing at all the hottest clubs and playing everything from Drum and Bass to House and Tech all in the same night, eclectic?
April 1999 was marked by the release of Metric’s first major Mix Cd released on Vwreckords inc. The Cd was an underground success and set new boundaries in the areas electronic music scene. After touring locally then to France and London and playing with such greats as John Kelley, Ian Pooley, Hardkiss brothers, Jeep Grlzz, Jeed, XL, Dj Ram, Pfreud, Fred Everything, etc., was time to settle down and hibernate, studio styles. After having been out of the circle for over a year Metric is preparing to “bring the noise” with his new album due out early 2002.
