2013 BIO

In an industry where we are saturated with DJs claiming to be cutting edge, pioneer's or the next big thing, Kidd Star delivers the real deal with his proven career.

Kidd Star, born Aaron Payes in Vestal, NY, found his love in the emerging electronic scene in Charlotte, NC in 2000. He saw the future of music by witnessing the responses of thousands of kids attending the famous Bass Wars parties that he helped run and promote. Kidd Star quickly jumped all into the EDM scene with his purchase of 2 turntables. Kidd Star would open for anyone and tag along with any DJ that would let him so he could learn as much as possible. Playing anywhere he could, his relentless effort allowed him to climb the ladder and eventually tour & hold residencies in cities such as Charlotte, Tampa, Nashville, Mobile, Birmingham, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Dallas & Atlanta. Along his ride since that purchase in 2000 Kidd Star has shared stages with DJ Mix Master Mike (Beastie Boys DJ), DJ Muggs (Cypress Hill's DJ), the Ying Yang Twins, Baby Anne, Sharaz, DJ Mondo, Tony Faline, DJ Trashy, DJ Doc Roc along with playing for Denzel Washington, Ray Lewis, Jazze Pha, Dallas Austin and being a requested DJ for Playboy Playmate Amy Lee Andrews & Billionaire Mogul Ted Turner Family. Kidd Star's ability on the turntables has allowed him to showcase his skills on Radio Mixshows Q100 (Cardio Radio, Atlanta, GA), 933FLZ (Tampa, FL) and WILD987 (Tampa, FL)

Not only a DJ but a Producer as well, Kidd Star has been playing the piano since the age of 12 which allowed him to dive into Remixing & Production quickly at the beginning of his career. Kidd Star would go on to release over 10 12" Vinyl Recordings, 5 Albums and Countless Mix-tapes including the 10 volumes of the world famous E-Hop Mixtape series solidifying him as a major player in the DJ scene. His single, "Miss My Baby" was a southern anthem in 2011 and in 2012 his single "Rah! (It's Gametime)" was picked up by ESPN Radio, used as the fight song for the Orlando Solar Bears Hockey team & Binghamton University Basketball team along with being featured in the movie Coming & Going featuring Rhys Darby & Sasha Alexander.

Founder & member of the super group, 3 Bad Brothaz, Kidd Star and his group transformed the club scene in '00's with their new form of music, E-Hop, that was copied by DJs from New York, Miami, DC, LA, Dallas and Las Vegas. Their sound E-Hop, was a fusion of Hip-Hop & Electronic music. This sound took Hip-Hop samples/vocals and put them over Electronic beats and was the biggest club craze in the 00's. You can now hear E-Hop and its musical influence on any Pop Radio station today and its continued presence in the underground EDM scene.

Kidd Star pursued his solo career in '10. The last two years Kidd Star has focused on developing his music & the E-Hop sound even further by working with Grammy Nominated musicians and producers. As a result, this year his single, Rah! (It's Gametime), went to #4 on Billboards CD Single Charts above international artists Pitbull & Flo Rida.
