As the daughter of award winning country music songwriter, Billy Barton (BMI), music was an important part of Debbie’s life from a young age. Her involvement was primarily vocal though, until a few years ago when she began working with her father on updating some of his material. The experience sparked a desire to write and record several of her own country songs. But then it became clear that God was at work in her life. Her husband accepted Jesus as his savior and their lives changed dramatically. She became very involved with the music ministry at their church with the strong feeling that God was calling her to serve him. She began writing Christian songs focusing on the importance of turning your life over to Jesus. “I feel an urgency to encourage others not to wait before making the most important decision of their lives. God has transformed my life and I want others to experience the joy I’ve found in having a relationship with him,” she says.
