Born and raised in Montreal's Little Burgundy neighborhood, home of legendary greats Oscar Peterson and Oliver Jones, Datdude has always had music running through his veins. His father was a singer/guitarist in a reggae band and his mother filled their apartment with the sounds of R&B.
As of 2008, DatDude began focusing on his own singing career. The first song he recorded received serious radio play, running 11 weeks in a row on the Masters At Work show on CKUT 90.3 fm. As he gained popularity in the city, DatDude caught the ear of MC Mario & was a featured performer on his last 5 compilation albums. Many of DatDude's songs have received regular radio airplay on top 40 stations all over the country. His Influences include Andre 3000, R. Kelly, T-pain, Radiohead, Michael Jackson, and Stevie Wonder.
